Bentonite resources are rich in China, the reserves accounted for 60% of the world's total, ranking first in the world. But the vast majority of calcium based bentonite for use, to expand its scope of use, it must be modified to deal with. At present, there are two main methods: one is the sodium modification, the two is the organic coating modification. In a large number of modified bentonite, lithium bentonite is a typical one, which is made up of calcium based bentonite. Modified lithium based bentonite not only has the characteristics of sodium bentonite, but also has the function of organic bentonite, and can replace the organic bentonite in many application fields, so it has high value.
Calcium base bentonite of preparation of lithium bentonite process are as follows: calcium base bentonite by H 2 O disintegration slurry and coarse filter (filter sand stone standing, (filtered supernatant) drying, crushing, H C L acidification filter (filter filtrate) and then with H 2 0, l i c 1 lithium, filtering (filter filtrate) drying treatment, finally get the lithium base bentonite.
The key parameters of the above mentioned processes are the acidification and the conditions of lithium. The experiments show that the optimum conditions are as follows: HCI concentration 0.05 M, temperature 40 ~ 100~C; time 12h. The best lithium condition is: LiCl: acid soil =l:8; temperature 60 degrees C; time 8 h.
